Hi!
Long time, no write. Or should I say, “Long time, no reading ‘Springing Beyond These Walls?'” No! I will just say, “It is nice to spend time with you again in this blog space. It has been four months since I posted on “Springing Beyond These Walls.” Why? A lot has been going on the first four months of this year.
I really missed writing weekly on this blog. I am so full of subjects to write about. The question is, “Which subject is oozing more profusely than the others?” They all are at the pop-out line, ready to be written.
A choice had to be made. So here goes….
Do you believe that we can sometimes be so busy until we miss out on what God is telling us about ourselves and about those around us? Has God ever told you about how some people really feel about you, and you dismiss it as being from the devil? Well, my friend, you better slow down and listen to what God is saying. God is talking to us as we go about our daily lives.
We must not be so busy, until we do not hear God. I guess you might wonder, “How can anyone be busy during a pandemic?” Well, it is easy! You might be the one who has three or four Zoom meetings a day. Perhaps you are a writer, and have multiple deadlines. Maybe, your stay-at-home career has you on the phone solving people’s problems or in business meetings eight hours a day. When your work day is over, you have to cook dinner and spend time with your family. You then watch tv shows to relax your mind.
Whatever you do, take time out of your busy schedule to hear God.
One of the good things about God is; when you have a relationship with God, He will prepare you for things to come. Sometimes God will show you in a dream, things that will happen. The details in the dream might not always be exactly how they will occur, but pay attention anyway.
Now, don’t stop reading. This is not a post on the authenticity of dreams. I just want to share with you about how our awesome God will speak to us, prepare us and help us.
I do not remember most of my dreams.
But, every so often, God will show me things in a dream that are memorable. Some times, He warns me. Other times, He shows me good things to come.
Some people do not believe in the power of dreams. If that is you, walk with me anyway. God showed me recently why I should pay closer attention to my dreams. One of my memorable dreams came to pass.
In February or March of this year, I had a dream that stuck with me. In the dream, I experienced a major disappointment by someone I respected. In the dream, the person made some moves that affected me adversely and did not tell me anything about it. I thought our relationship was solid. After all, I have helped this person with many confidential things for years.
But, did I really think our relationship was genuine, or was I in denial? God had shown me my stance of denial during Zoom meeting observations. My discernment was in tact. But, I overlooked God’s signs and warnings. So, God spoke loudly to me in a dream.
I told my oldest son about the dream, and not about who the people were in the dream. He said, “Mama, there is someone that you are putting too much confidence in. You need to think about everyone you interact with. You need to direct your attention on positive things. You also need to know your value. Some people are intimidated by YOU.” Those were wise, insightful words from an intelligent young man.
That dream still weighed on my mind.
A week or so later, I told my cousin/prayer partner who lives in another state, about the dream. I also reluctantly told her who the main character was in the dream. To my surprise, she was not surprised. She said that she saw this a couple of years ago, but did not tell me, because. The Lord told her that I was not ready at the time. We prayed and changed the subject.
When the dream was manifested, It hurt. Especially since I was already dealing with family situations. I cried, but not for long. The Spirit of the Lord said to me, “Why are you fretting? I showed this to you in a dream. Some of the people were different, but it was one central person and the same action.”
My son Justin also reminded me, “God has seen your work and dedication. I believe every word is true. Even though I don’t live it. All things are working together for you; and mama, I am not just talking!” Wow! Thank you Dear God for my son’s encouraging words. I believe my son will give his life to the Lord soon.
At first, I asked God, “Why? Why am I so unloved and unliked by certain people? Why? I did nothing but help all I could.” The Lord told me that I was busy trying to please people, because the need to please was in me since childhood. It was a spirit of rejection that was driving my actions. I was looking for affirmation in people rather than in God.
Thank you Lord for exposing the real culprit!
The spirit of rejection will cause you to fall prey to self-absorbed users. There are people who will get what they want, and then drop you like a hot potato. But, God is so awesome. He will deliver you from the grips and after affects of being negatively used. He will help you to not harbor resentment in your heart. Praise God!
My friend, pray for those who take advantage of your kind heart and your misguided gift of helps. Pray for yourself. Acknowledge to God and yourself that YOU allowed it. Direct your initial anger to where it belongs; and that is, ‘with you.’ Then repent to the Lord for allowing yourself to be in that situation. FORGIVE yourself, forgive the other person(s), pray without ceasing, and let God help you get to the root of how you became a people pleaser. Recognize the warfare, activate your offensive and defensive weapons, be ready for the spiritual attack and move on.
Read, meditate upon and pray about the Word of God. Read a Psalm daily. Also, read Ephesians 6:10-18. This pericope says, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
My friend, if the Bible gives you an imperative to ‘be’ strong in the Lord, that indicates you CAN do it! When you put your war clothes on, you will be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. When you stay in the Word of God, The Lord will place more scriptures in your heart to help you while you are in debacles.
The other day, the Spirit of the Lord placed another scripture on my heart that gave me peace about the situation I mentioned above. Isaiah 42:9 says, “Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.”
The new things that will spring forth may not always be 100% lovely. Sometimes God shows you the good, the bad and the ugly. But, my friend, you will know when God delivers you. Though it may not feel good at first, I will say to you like my Pastor says, “Hang in there!”
God will also show you how He has enlightened you, delivered you and anointed you for such a time as this. Keep your ears tuned in to God’s voice. Pick up your sad heart, shower it with the joy of the Lord and shout, “NEXT!” Also, do not forget to thank our merciful and gracious God for declaring the new things to you before they happen. Praise God! A brighter day is here TODAY, and there are more to come.
Thank you for joining me today. I will leave you with the question to this post, “Are Your Dreams Speaking Louder Than Your Busy Days!” If so, think about them and proceed! I will talk with you soon.
Blessings!
